Mayor of Elmbridge Charity appeal - Cllr Barry Cheyne Mayor of Elmbridge has chosen Parkinson’s UK to be his charity for the year. The Charity exists to help and support sufferers from this terrible disease and their carers. Parkinson’s UK are very excited that the Mayor has chosen them to be his charity for the year and have pledged not only their total support to his efforts but also that every penny raised will be spent in the Borough of Elmbridge to assist sufferers and their families.
Webmaster’s Charity - Georgie's Fund Fighting Neuroblastoma ‘Georgie's Fund has been set up in memory of a dear little boy George Hayhoe who lost his battle against Neuroblastoma on 21st January 2004 aged just 8 years old. Georgie's Story has been written by his Mum, it is a moving account of Georgie's short life. After reading it you will understand why we have started Georgie's Fund and why we are determined to succeed! We want to raise as much money as we can in Georgie's name to research into a cure and new treatments for Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare and aggressive childhood cancer that is diagnosed in around 100 children in the UK each year. Once diagnosed the survival rate is just one in five. There is NO government funded research into this disease.’

These two illnesses are both forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and they affect about 1 in 250 people in the United Kingdom.
